About Me
Hi, I’m Gillian,
and I’m thrilled to introduce Tasmanian Occasion Hampers.
A business that blends my passion for creativity, love of Tasmania, and dedication to sustainability.
My journey with hampers began 18 years ago when I first started creating beautiful, thoughtful gift packages for corporate clients. I loved bringing together stunning products and presenting them in a truly special way. Life had other plans, and I eventually decided to close that chapter. But as the years passed, the spark to create never left me. So here I am, excited to relaunch my hamper business, this time with a renewed focus on local, eco-friendly, and sustainable practices.
As a lifelong Tasmanian, I’m deeply inspired by the incredible products our island offers. Tasmania is home to some of the most pristine environments and talented makers, and it’s a joy to showcase their work in my hampers. From gourmet treats to artisanal crafts, every item is carefully chosen to celebrate the best of what our state has to offer.
I can also colour coordinate to your special requirements.
Creativity is at the heart of everything I do. My workspace is a 1964 Vintage Valiant caravan—my cozy little haven in my backyard where ideas flow and hampers come to life. It’s a peaceful and inspiring spot that allows me to focus on crafting hampers that are not just gifts but meaningful experiences for the recipients.
Starting this business again feels like a new adventure. Each hamper is thoughtfully decorated and filled with products I truly believe in, whether it’s for a cherished friend or a corporate event.
My goal is to create gifts that not only delight but also reflect the beauty, quality, and sustainability of Tasmania.
Thank you for supporting Tasmanian Occasion Hampers. It’s a joy to share my passion with you, and I can’t wait to help you give the gift of something truly special.
Warmly,
Gillian Southwell
